Architectural drawings for Richard Potts house, 1817.

A brief letter from Mills, an estimate of cost of construction, two copies of a list of quantity and price of lumber needed, two elevation drawings (front and side), and three floor plans (basement, principal, and chamber floors) for a house designed by Robert Mills for Richard Potts of Frederick, Maryland. The plan for the principal floor does not correspond with the layout of the other floors; this was probably a first drawing, and the house was deemed to be too small, as the other drawings are for a larger house. The basement drawing gives details of spacing of openings. The front elevation shows changes in designs for the windows. In his letter, written from Baltimore, Mills offers to procure any items necessary for the house which cannot be found in Frederick.

8 items : ill. ; 32 cm. or smaller.
